The number of drivers in the UK aged over 90 has topped 100,000 for the first time.

DVLA figures also show that more than 4.5 million of the 39 million people holding driving licences are aged over 70.

A 2016 study from Swansea University revealed drivers aged 70 are involved in three to four times fewer accidents than men aged between 17-21, showing that the view that older drivers may pose a danger are unfounded.
